Many criminal defense situations include charges of various types

The reason for a traffic stop in New Hampshire may not always be immediately apparent. Many stops prove rather uneventful, and motorists are sent on their way after officers determine all is well. Other situations may quickly turn from bad to worse, leaving the person behind the wheel in need of experienced criminal defense.

This seems to be the case for a man who was recently stopped on a local road in Tilton. Authorities say they made the initial stop because they noticed a fake inspection sticker on the car's window. It was later noted that the vehicle was in such poor condition that an officer issued the motorist a traffic violation and ordered the car to be towed.

The incident also resulted in serious drug charges against the same man. Police say they found and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, hypodermic needles and various prescription drugs during a search of the truck the man owns. They also claim to have found a knife, an ax and a semi-automatic firearm. Police say they seized nearly $24,000 in cash, $9,000 of which was actually in the man's pants pocket.

He is now being held in jail without bail. Some of the charges against him include unlawful possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. The situation is complicated because it involves two separate vehicles. The drugs and weapons were allegedly found in the man's truck that was being driven by someone else at the time. Whether in New Hampshire or elsewhere, building a strong criminal defense against such serious charges is often more easily accomplished alongside skilled and aggressive representation.
